Why Papio Valley Nursery?

Friendly People. Exceptional Service.

At Papio Valley, our customers come first. What does that mean to you?

  • Whether your order comes in via phone, email, fax, or text, we respond quickly and let you know that we have received your order and are ready to help with any other questions or substitutions that may need to be discussed.
  • We fill your order promptly and load your truck quickly so you can get back to your job site.
  • We don't sell retail, and we don't landscape on the side. This means we will NEVER compete with you for the same jobs, and you will NEVER wait behind retail customers when picking up plants from our nursery.
  • Our plants are climatized to this region. We grow as much of our own plant material as possible, since we believe local plants handle our difficult climate best.
  • We offer competitive pricing that enables you to make a profit without sacrificing quality.

So the only question is how much can Papio Valley Nursery add to your bottom line with the time we save you, the personal service, and exceptional products?

Rooted In Family

As Papio Valley Nursery embarks on its 25th year in business we look back and thank all of our customers and employees that have taken us too where we are today and we look ahead to the future with some of the biggest changes we have ever made in our business model. Serving the customer has always been our number one goal and that has paved the way to success. Serving God, caring for family, growing plants - that is the recipe. It requires getting up every day with a plan and not giving up when things get tough, like the Nebraska weather! Our past 25 years have all lead to the expectation that you will get great customer service and materials at a fair price for your next project.

In 1999 Alan and Rita Weiss started Papio Valley Nursery on 2 acres in Papillion with the help of their family. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and friends all contributed to get the business up and running. With just a few customers those first years, times were challenging but rewarding. Perennials and shrubs were being produced and the business was off and running.

In 2004 Papio Valley Nursery added a few employees and started carrying many of the plants that landscapers required, including trees. This was a huge move, with increased machinery and trucking needs. The decision to service the landscape market proved to be one of the biggest and best decisions for Papio Valley as growth increased rapidly. As the years went by, the nursery grew in size, customer range and employees. New growing techniques and increased customer service proved pivotal. The nursery grew to 25 acres and 20 employees by 2021, using the entire family farm for plant and mulch production.

The next 25 years

In 2024, Papio Valley Nursery announced a second facility in Valley, Nebraska to serve West Omaha customers, the next big step in growth. This new transition is met with great excitement from our team and we are excited to bring our brand of customer service and quality to the area. Our values will remain the same as we move into the next 25 years, and that will allow our customers to know they have a trusted partner in their business!
